NEW TO CONTACTS?
Read the following information to get started!
WHEN YOU MAKE YOUR APPOINTMENT
When you schedule your appointment, please be sure to mention that you are either a current contact lens wearer, or that you are interested in being fit with contact lenses. For new patients, the physician will examine your eyes to determine if you are a candidate for contact lenses. Once the physician has completed this exam, you will then be referred to our contact lens technician for a separate contact lens fitting.
If you are an established contact lens wearer, (in some cases) you may be able to leave that day with a set of trial lenses in your updated prescription.
AFTER YOUR EXAM
Once your eye exam is complete and you have a copy of your glasses prescription, you will see our contact lens technician. She will determine your needs based on your measurements and how you wish to wear your contacts.
CONTACT LENSES
Ready to Order?
If you have completed your contact lens exam, you can order from our online store and we will mail your new contact lenses directly to you.
A session is scheduled for you to learn how to insert, remove and care for your lenses. Trial lenses are then provided. You will wear these trial lenses for about one week, then come back for a recheck with our contact lens technician. She will discuss how the trial went, check the fit and your visual acuity, and upon a successful fit will have you see the doctor for the final approved contact lens prescription.
At this point, you will have the prescription necessary to order your contact lenses.
CONTACT LENS FITTING FEES
The contact lens fitting fee is separate and distinct from your eye exam and is determined by the type of lens that your prescription requires. In most cases this fee is not covered by insurance. Please contact our office if you have any questions.
